Blog One

As we look around the world today we all see good and bad in many different types of societies. One of the most controversial topics in the United states of America currently today is the social issue of gay rights. Homosexuals are people just as the rest of Americans are people. They “choose” a different lifestyle than the majority of average citizens do, but they are still human.  To give you a better picture of the strugglehomosexuals face in America you can vision the struggle African Americans or other minorities had to go through about forty to fifty years back. Homosexuals are fighting for the same rights that African Americans and other minorities faced a while back and are somewhat still facing today. In the Article “Dana Milbank, You're Wrong on the Family Research Council”, there is a conflict between the Family research Council and advocates for the advocacy group Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender ( LGBT).  The LGBT group has been discriminated against by the Family Research Council which claims to be a Christian advocacy group. The problem of hatred between ReligiousChristians vs. spiritual Christians and homosexuals has been present for quite some time.  The Family Research Council has slandered homosexuals for a long time, claiming false statements causing a big uproar in society. This organization has thrown out slanderous remarks such as “God hates fags” as well as associating gay men with pedophilia or sexual abuse.  It is clear that we can see Gays are definitely facing a big struggle in America and should not have to fight so hard against these kindsof remarks or endure horrible treatment from their own people. These are the people who make our society and should have the same rights as the rest of America. This is one of the greatest social issues that will ever to have been pursued not only within America but around the world.

  1. You try to blend the summary and the analysis into one blog, and were pretty successful with that. However, this article is about Human Rights violations in the US, not globally. You could have applied the issue globally, as members of the LGBTQ community around the world face human rights violations.
