Blog4: Suicide Bomber in Afghanistan Strikes Minibus, Killing Mostly Foreign Workers

On Tuesday, September 18, in Afghanistan was a suicide bombing. The suicide bombing killed fourteen people including ten foreigners whom worked as flight crew members under contract with the United States government. The bombing was a result of a video Mimicking humorously the Prophet Muhammad. The person said to be responsible for this bombing was a eighteen year old female “in response to the film insulting the Prophet Muhammad and Islam.”This bombing suicide was the first connected to that video, but it is believed that more attacks may come on that videos behalf. The suicide bomber was driving a car full of explosives, full speed, head on into a bus killing all the people on the bus including two people on the road. Many of these people that were killed were employees of a private company that provides services to the United States Agency for International Development and other organizations in Afghanistan. A total of twenty-eight people has been killed, in six different countries, over this video.
Apparently, this video parodying the Prophet Muhammad is something very serious to many people. The video, on YouTube titled "Innocence of Muslims" gave a young lady the courage to not only commit suicide, but to also take out some innocent people around her. The anti Islam video claims Islam is a lie and Mohammed was a pedophile. Muslims, obviously, take seriously anything offensive regarding Muhammad, so serious that American officials are afraid that the video may cause more attacks like this attack in particular. The video did not violate any American laws, so its a matter of personal beliefs that are causing people to react the way they are reacting over this video. I assume because of how people are reacting the man who made this video could be connected to some kind of" criminal conviction".
