Blog 7 Malala Shot in the Head, Fighting for her Life

Days before the Nobel Peace Award was given out, men from Pakistan did the exact opposite from making peace.  They were part of the Pakistani Taliban.  They followed home a van of fourteen -year old girls, and asked for a very special girl, and then they shot her in the head.  They believe that they are so intimidating, but Malala Yousufzai was not afraid of them, therefor they shot her.  Most of the men in the Taliban fear women of knowledge.  Malala though has not backed down; she is still in the hospital fighting for her life.  She has suffered injuries to her neck and spinal cord, and the doctors are trying to decrease the swelling in her brain.  The TTP are anti women, so it did not affect them hen they shot this young girl.  The head of the TTP Ehsanullah Ehsanacknowledged was his men had done, and had said if she does survive they will try and kill her again.  The Taliban had destroyed over 200 schools and demanded that all girls’ schools must be shut down.  IN 2009 though, that is when Malala started to blog; she would write about her dreams for the future and write about how the Taliban are the reasons why her dreams are out of reach.  This is when he became a threat to the Taliban.  Malala helped bring to light and to everyone in Pakistan that the TTP were taking over their lives.  Even though Malala is quite young she continues to push for equality throughout Pakistan.
I believe that this is a major problem in Pakistan, the TTP are trying to get rid of all women rights because they are anti – women.  The TTP take things to such drastic measures, for example how Malala is an advocacy for education at only fourteen.  They find that threatening so therefor they feel the need to kill her.  She is only a little girl and now she is fighting for her life in the hospital after being shot in the head.  As well I think it is terrible that the head of the TTP stated that if she does not die they would try and kill her again.  Something needs to be done in this country, and women should be able to have some rights.
