“17
Mutilated Bodies found on farm in Central Mexico”
As Mexicans celebrated their
official Independence Day on September 16, 2012, seventeen bodies, all naked
and stacked with chains around their neck were dispersed and found on a farm. Because numerous crime gangs in Mexico
constantly battle for power among the drug cartel lines, authorities cannot
identify any possible suspects involved in the crime. Gangs have been known
notoriously for their vicious murders, proudly displaying signs around heavy
drug cartel areas to threaten other crime gangs. The border between Jalisco and Michoacan is extremely
dangerous in that just last Monday an armed group of criminals challenged a
handful of local police officers during a shootout incident that left two
victims dead, and two injured. Similarly to the 17 bodies found at the farm
this week, four months ago in May, 18 human heads and human remains were found
packed together in two abandoned cars along the highway where Jalisco connects.
After a top drug boss in the region, Eduardo Costilla Sanchez was arrested last
Friday, authorities have since found a total of 16 bodies along the Texas
border and along the town of San Fernando, where 74 dead immigrants were found
two years ago. Shockingly, over the course of 6 years, approximately 48,000
deaths in Mexico were those related to drug violence along, and public groups
believe the number is actually higher than reported!
The impact gangs has on the global world as a whole is
unfortunate because although many gangs are locally based, their violence and
hate crimes spread worldwide and induce fear on citizens as a whole because
everyone has the mindset of “every man for himself.” People become terrorized
with fear, fear of being a victim of a hate crime, or fear of losing someone as
a result of a hate crime. Incidents such as these happen as a result from drug
lords and gang members trying to gain power and “respect” by controlling their
area and the people that live there. People no longer have a sense of mind or
security because of all the crime taking place, and some may even consider
moving to the United States to escape the crime, further overpopulating the
United States. Some countries do not know how to handle gang related crime, as
its violence is exponentially high being that deported gang members link up
with other deported gang members to commit gang related activities. As many
gang members move back and forth between countries, not only are they
transporting people and goods, but also a lifestyle of violence that has been
idolized due to fear.
The fact that criminals are willing to do whatever it takes to
terrorize their surroundings is sickening because what person in their right
mind disfigures already naked corpses and stacks them on a person’s farm? Similarly,
who comes up with the idea to chop off 18 human heads and place them in
abandoned cars? Is this the work of humans or savages?
