This article is about the middle class in America. Income inequality has increased for the last three decades and has worsened since the recent economic recession. It said that poverty has grown deeper since the recession. But with the aid of Social Security and unemployment has put some people over the poverty line, which is a problem because of the futures of these programs. This has raised issues in the current election in which one of the big issues is the middle class “disappearance.” This inequality has limited movement of the middle class they are either staying still and unsatisfied, dropping into the lower, or in very rare cases getting richer. The middle class feel like they are being taxed while the rich folks (this who can afford it) aren’t.

From a sociological standpoint the middle class feel that they can’t get higher than the achieved status they reach, they feel that they are stuck in the middle. Most people want to get to the highest point they can get to. The disappearance of the middle class is a major issue because they feel that they are a minority (they are in fact a considered a sociological minority) and their voice and mobility is being affected by the upper and lower class.
