Blog # 10
Abuse is one of world peace’s biggest enemies. Abuse comes in many forms, sometimes in forms that people would notsuspect. For example racism is considered to be discrimination, but can also be looked at as mental abuse. Child abuse and sexual abuse are two of the most recognized types of abuse in America or given attention through the media. In the article “Protection Orders for Children Double in decade: Welfare report” the seriousness of child abuse is emphasized. The cases of neglected and abused children in Australia have risen from around 4.8 children per thousand to 6.9 Per thousand present day. Oral health and poor nutrition are also very big problems that were emphasized in reports. According to the report there was a forty-five and forty-nine percent experience in dental decay between six year olds and twelve year olds. Another issue that children also experience form abuse or neglect is the problem that many average Americans encounter themselves which is obesity. The last problem noted in the surprising death rate for infants less than twelve months old. Child mortality rates in certain areas such as remote areas are placed at three times higher than any of the major cities. As you may notice abuse, further more child abuse, is a very important issue in Australia. Child abuse is something that many people should be educated about so that society may be more considerate as to how they treat their future, which are the children. Many societies fall apart because of the abused children growing up and not being able to function normally due to the abuse in their early childhood. It is obvious that child protection and indigenous welfare are certainly more emphasized areas of need in this country. Again, programs or laws should be furtherdetailed or remade by the governement, so that child abuse mentally or sexually decreases. Problems such as obesity in children and death rates, rather for suicide or due to injuries will also decrease as the cases of child abuse decreases in Australia.
